COVID-19 Reopening Guidelines

Reopening Plan for Dance Action of Newtown

SITUATION:

Mitigation of the risk of exposure to COVID-19 upon reopening Dance Action of Newtown

BACKGROUND:

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. There are many types of human coronaviruses, including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. COVID-19 is a new disease, caused by a novel (or new) coronavirus that has not previously been seen in humans.  In order to reopen Dance Action of Newtown a Plan for reopening needs to be established

ASSESSMENT:

To maintain safe behavioral practices to reduce the spread of COVID-19 with in the dance studio, the CDC recommendations that need to be followed include

  • social distancing (specifically, staying a minimum of 3-6 feet away from others when in a shared space)
  • frequently washing hands or use alcohol-based (at least 60% alcohol) hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available
  • Wearing cloth face coverings except for children under 2, if it is a possible choking or strangulation hazard, or if your child has trouble breathing with the mask. If your child is unconscious, incapacitated or unable to remove the cover without help, they should not wear a mask either. Additionally, a child is touching his or her face more frequently while wearing a mask, then they should not wear it because this increases their risk of being exposed to the virus
  • avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth
  • staying home when sick
  • cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces

Plans will be developed to implement safe practices and those plans will be maintained and revised as situations present.
